September 13-14, 2008. Aromatherapy Course: The Chemistry of Essential Oils, 9am-6pm each day. CEUs available for nurses and massage therapists.
Aromatherapy, while being something of a misnomer, is in reality an effective healing art over 6,000 years old, based on the original form of medicine - plants, and in particular, aromatic plants. Essential oils, distilled from these plants, speak directly to the limbic system, and thus can bring about powerful changes in the mind and body.
Mitzi Forbes, Ph.D. is a professor of nursing at the Milwaukee School
of Engineering. Since becoming certified in aromatherapy and Healing Touch,
she has published several research studies on both. Any of the 4 workshops
can be taken on their own. Those interested in becoming certified will need
to take all 4, although one workshop can be made up through home study.
